Faced with the COVID 19 pandemic, where regular hand washing is vital, the Minister of Hydraulics, Laurent TCHAGBA granted an interview on Tuesday March 31, 2020 to Radio Côte d'Ivoire where he explains the measures taken by his Department to ensure continuity of drinking water supply, in particular:
- The establishment of a crisis committee, made up of the Ministry, ONEP and SODECI in order to quickly deal with all the challenges caused by the measures taken by the Government to counter COVID 19.
- The commissioning of the Saint Viateur production plant which will impact Djibi, Abatta, Riviera and Djogorobité;
- The works of the ongoing APTF project which will relieve 155 sub-districts of the district of Abidjan;
- The increase in tank trucks in Abidjan from 03 to 07 in order to take over in the event of a break in the continuity of service in hospitals, military camps, prisons and neighborhoods;
- Consultation with the Ministry of Equipment and Road Maintenance in order to combat the breakage of drinking water distribution pipes during road works; etc…
